Ingredients

  • 1 –2 tablespoons pure maple syrup 15–30 ml
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon to taste
  • ¼ cup freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • ½ cup milk steamed and frothed
  • Whipped cream optional
  • Extra ground cinnamon for garnish optional

Instructions

Step 1: Brew the Espresso Cooking & Recipes

  • Prepare ¼ cup of freshly brewed espresso or very strong coffee.

Step 2: Mix the Flavorings

  • In your favorite mug, stir together:
  • Maple syrup
  • Vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Pour the hot espresso over the mixture and stir until everything is fully combined.

Step 3: Steam the Milk

  • Heat the milk until hot but not boiling. Froth it using a milk frother, French press, or whisk until light and foamy.

Step 4: Assemble the Latte

  • Slowly pour the steamed milk into the espresso mixture, holding back the foam with a spoon. Finish by spooning the foam over the top.

Step 5: Garnish

  • Top with whipped cream if desired and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use freshly ground cinnamon for the strongest aroma.
  • Freshly brewed espresso provides the richest flavor.
  • Don’t boil the milk, as overheating can reduce sweetness and create a less creamy texture.
  • A small pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice can add extra warmth during fall.
  • For an iced cinnamon latte, cool the espresso mixture completely before pouring over ice and cold milk.
  • Double the recipe easily for two servings.
