Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker or large mixing glass
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Long bar spoon
  • Two cocktail glasses
  • Ice cubes

Ingredients
  

  • 6 ounces vodka
  • 4 ounces blue curaçao
  • 4 ounces grenadine
  • 1 drop purple food coloring
  • Sprite to top the drinks
  • Ice as needed

Instructions
 

Step 1: Chill Your Glasses

  • I like to place my cocktail glasses in the refrigerator for a few minutes before making the drinks. cold glass helps keep the cocktail refreshing, especially when serving it at a party.

Step 2: Add Ice

  • Fill a cocktail shaker or large mixing glass with ice.

Step 3: Mix the Main Ingredients

  • Pour in the vodka, blue curaçao, and grenadine. Stir or shake gently until the mixture is well chilled. If you are using a cocktail shaker, do not add the Sprite yet. Shaking a carbonated drink can create a messy surprise.

Step 4: Add the Purple Color

  • Add one small drop of purple food coloring to the mixture. Stir gently and check the color. If you want a deeper purple appearance, add only a tiny additional amount.

Step 5: Pour Into Glasses

  • Fill two glasses with fresh ice and divide the cocktail mixture between them.

Step 6: Top With Sprite

  • Slowly pour Sprite over each drink. Give each cocktail one gentle stir, then serve immediately while the drink is cold and fizzy.

Notes

  • This recipe makes 2 cocktails.
  • One serving equals approximately one prepared cocktail.
  • The amount of Sprite can be adjusted depending on how strong or sweet you like the  drink.
  • Do not shake Sprite or any carbonated ingredient in a sealed cocktail shaker.
  • The food coloring is mainly for appearance and should be added gradually.
  • For the best flavor and texture, serve the cocktail immediately after adding the soda.
  • If making a party batch, add the carbonated ingredient just before serving rather than hours in advance.
