Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped watermelon
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • ⅓ to ½ cup honey depending on watermelon sweetness
  • 6 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Watermelon

  • Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any visible seeds. Measure 4 cups of chopped watermelon.

Step 2: Add Ingredients to Blender

  • Place the watermelon, cold water, sugar, honey, lime juice, and mint leaves into a high-speed blender.

Step 3: Blend Until Smooth

  • Blend for about 30 to 60 seconds until the mixture becomes completely smooth.

Step 4: Strain (Optional)

  • For a smoother drink, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. This step removes excess pulp.

Step 5: Chill

  • Refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes if desired, or serve immediately.

Step 6: Serve

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the watermelon agua fresca over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or lime slices.

Notes

  • Ripe watermelon creates the best flavor.
  • Straining is optional but provides a smoother texture.
  • Adjust sweetness based on personal preference.
  • Fresh lime juice is strongly recommended over bottled juice.
  • Add sparkling water just before serving if using.
  • Fresh mint can be replaced with basil for a different flavor profile.
