Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cups silver tequila blanco tequila
  • 2 cups 100% unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 3/4 cup Cointreau or any orange liqueur
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave nectar adjust to taste
  • Zest from 1 orange
  • 4 cups ice
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Sugared cranberries

Instructions

Mix the Rim

  • Pour sugar and salt onto a plate. Dip each glass rim in lime juice or water, then roll it through the mixture to create a sparkling salt-sugar shine.

Build the Punch

  • Pour tequila, cranberry juice, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberries, honey, and orange zest into a large pitcher. Stir until the honey mixes in fully.

Add the Ice

  • Dump the ice straight into the pitcher. Stir again. The ice chills the drink fast and gives it that frosted look.

Taste and Adjust

  • If you want it sweeter, add a little more honey. If you want more tart flavor, squeeze in more lime.

Serve

  • Fill each rimmed glass with the frosted margarita and top with rosemary or sugared cranberries.

Notes

  • Mix the drink right before serving for the best frosted texture.
  • Use fresh lime juice, not bottled.
  • Keep extra cranberries on hand for decoration.
  • A glass pitcher helps showcase the red colour.
  • Crush a little ice if you want an even thicker frost.
