Equipment

  • Blender, juicer, or manual citrus reamer
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • A knife
  • Bowl or pitcher

Ingredients

  • 6 large oranges preferably sweet and juicy varieties like Valencia or Navel
  • 3 mint leaves washed, decoration
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sugar or honey if needed
  • Optional: Pinch of salt to enhance flavor

Instructions

Method 1: Using a Blender

  • Steps:
  • Peel the oranges and remove all seeds. (You don’t want bitterness in your juice.)
  • Cut the oranges into smaller pieces and add them to the blender.
  • Blend on high until smooth. This takes about 1-2 minutes.
  • Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the blended orange pulp.
  • Use a spoon to press the pulp and extract as much juice as possible.
  • Taste the juice and adjust with sugar or honey if needed. Add a pinch of salt for a flavor boost.
  • Elevate the flavor of your orange juice by adding a garnish of fresh mint leaves. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Method 2: Using a Juicer

  • Steps:
  • Wash and cut the oranges in half.
  • Feed the orange halves into your juicer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Collect the juice in the container provided by the juicer.
  • Elevate the flavor of your orange juice by adding a garnish of fresh mint leaves. Serve fresh, and enjoy your hassle-free juice.

Method 3: Without a Blender or Juicer

  • Steps:
  • Wash and cut the oranges in half.
  • Use a manual citrus reamer or hand press to extract the juice from each orange half.
  • Strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or salt as needed.
  • Elevate the flavor of your orange juice by adding a garnish of fresh mint leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy the freshness.

Notes

  • Always use fresh, ripe oranges for the best taste.
  • Avoid over-blending using a blender, as it may make the juice bitter.
  • Store leftover juice in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Fresh is always best, though!
  • Add a few ice cubes for an extra chill on hot days.
