Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey bourbon or rye works best
  • 1 oz fresh cranberry juice unsweetened
  • 1 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup or adjust to taste
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Orange slice or twist for garnish
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish, optional

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients:

  • First, juice the orange and lemon. If you don’t have fresh cranberry juice, you can use cranberry cocktail juice, but be mindful of the sweetness. Fresh is always best for an authentic, tart flavor.

Mix the Drink:

  • In a cocktail shaker, add the whiskey, cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker halfway with ice. Put the lid on and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds.

Strain and Serve:

  • Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice cubes. Garnish with an orange slice or twist, and a few fresh cranberries if desired.

Enjoy!

  • Sip and enjoy this tangy, slightly sweet whiskey sour with a refreshing fruity twist.

Notes

  • Always use fresh juices for the best flavor in cocktails. Fresh citrus juice gives the drink a bright, tangy note that pre-packaged juice just can’t match.
  • If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you can still mix your drink in a jar or any container with a tight-fitting lid.
