Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Martini glass
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Small plate for sugar
  • Citrus juicer
  • Small knife
  • Bar spoon

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce blueberry liqueur
  • 1 ounce white crème de cacao
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 ounce blueberry syrup
  • Fresh blueberries for garnish
  • Ice as needed for shaking and chilling
  • Sugar for rimming the glass
  • Lemon twist for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the martini glass

  • Rub a lemon wedge around the rim of your martini glass. Dip the rim into a small plate of sugar until evenly coated. Set aside.

Add the cocktail ingredients

  • Pour the vodka, blueberry liqueur, white crème de cacao, fresh lemon juice, and blueberry syrup into a cocktail shaker.

Add ice

  • Fill the shaker with ice. Leave enough room to shake everything comfortably.

Shake until chilled

  • Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds. This chills the ingredients and combines the flavors.

Strain into the glass

  • Remove the lid and strain the cocktail into your prepared martini glass. Avoid letting the ice fall into the serving glass.

Garnish and serve

  • Add a few fresh blueberries and a lemon twist. Serve immediately while the cocktail is cold.

Notes

  • This recipe makes one cocktail.
  • Use a blueberry-flavored liqueur for the most noticeable blueberry taste.
  • Crème de Violette and Blue Curaçao have different flavor profiles and are not direct blueberry liqueur replacements.
  • Adjust the blueberry syrup according to your preferred sweetness.
  • Fresh lemon juice gives the best flavor.
  • Chill the martini glass before serving for a frosty presentation.
  • Shake with plenty of ice for 15–20 seconds.
  • Garnish just before serving.
  • For a stronger cocktail, avoid adding extra syrup or juice to compensate for the alcohol.
  • This recipe contains alcohol and is intended for adults of legal drinking age.
